Survey Responses

  • Your answers to the 15 survey questions
  • Country-level location (derived from browser language settings only — not precise geolocation)
  • Referrer source (e.g., Reddit, LinkedIn, direct visit)
  • Anonymous session ID (to prevent duplicate submissions)

Optional Email Address

If you opt in for a follow-up interview (Question 15), we collect your email address. This is stored separately from your survey responses and is hashed for security. We will only use it to contact you about the interview opportunity.

What We Do NOT Collect

  • Your name
  • Your precise location (city or address)
  • Your IP address (beyond rate limiting, which is temporary)
  • Tracking cookies or analytics beyond basic session management
  • Any identifying information unless you explicitly provide it

How We Use Your Data

Your survey responses will be used for:

  • Research analysis: Understanding the human impact of AI job displacement
  • Platform design: Building features that actually address your needs
  • Academic publication: Sharing findings (in aggregate, anonymised form only)
  • Advocacy: Demonstrating the real-world impact to policymakers and institutions

We will NEVER:

  • Sell your data to third parties
  • Use your data for marketing purposes
  • Share individual responses publicly
  • Attempt to re-identify you from your responses

Data Storage & Security

  • All responses are stored in an encrypted SQLite database
  • Email addresses (if provided) are hashed using SHA-256
  • Data is stored on secure servers with restricted access
  • Only the research team has access to the raw data
  • Published findings will only include aggregated, anonymised data

Your Rights

Right to Deletion

You may request deletion of your survey response at any time. To do so, contact us via LinkedIn with your approximate submission date and we will remove your entry.

Right to Access

Because responses are fully anonymous, we cannot retrieve your specific response unless you can provide your unique session ID.

Right to Withdraw Consent

If you opted in for a follow-up interview, you may withdraw consent at any time by contacting us.

Data Retention

Survey responses will be retained for the duration of the research project (approximately 2-3 years) and may be retained longer for longitudinal analysis. Aggregated findings may be retained indefinitely.

Third-Party Services

This survey is self-hosted and does not use third-party analytics, tracking, or advertising services. We may use cloud hosting providers (e.g., Render) for infrastructure, but they do not have access to survey data.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy occasionally. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the survey after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
